Polycom (Poly) Announces Support for Microsoft Teams, Launch of RealConnect Hybrid and Availability of MSR

Polycom have announced that it will offer a portfolio of HD voice & video technologies for the newly announced Microsoft Teams collaboration platform, providing customers with even richer communications experiences when using Microsoft and Polycom together.

Microsoft have said that they are thrilled to be partnered with Polycom to integrate their core video and voice solutions with the Microsoft Teams platform. Microsoft believe that combining Teams & solutions such as the Polycom MSR and the Polycom RealPresence Group Series will create a powerful combination for any customers that need a high quality collaboration experience.
Introducing Polycom RealConnect Hybrid
Polycom RealConnect provides video interoperability between Microsoft Skype for Business online users in Office 365 and non-Skype for Business standards-based Video Conferencing and Collaboration endpoints.
Migration to the cloud and Office 365 is different for every organisation and is generally not a sudden switch over. To bridge the gap, Polycom has introduced the new Polycom RealConnect Hybrid solution, which aims to seamlessly connect Microsoft Skype for Business on premise users with existing video technology through Polycom video interoperability service in Microsoft Azure, based on the RealPresence Platform. When customers are ready to migrate to Office 365 and Skype for Business Online, they can simply switch to a RealConnect for Office 365 subscription.
RealConnect Hybrid will be available via VideoCentric from October.
Polycom MSR (Microsoft Skype Room) Series
Polycom is also announcing the availability to pre-order its next-generation Skype Room Systems, the Polycom MSR Series.
The familiar Skype for Business interface enables users to join a meeting with one click. Polycom’s powerful and rich audio and video quality gives meeting participants the look and feel of being across the table from each other. The Polycom MSR provides the latest in Polycom innovations built for any-sized conference room. Options include the Polycom EagleEye, Polycom Trio 8800, Polycom CX5100 video technology, Polycom RealPresence Medialign and the newly announced Polycom Trio 8500 and Polycom VoxBox. The Polycom MSR will be available worldwide in Q4, 2017.
