Lifesize have announced the launch of a new WebRTC powered app to enable HD Video, Audio and Content sharing within Google Chrome.

Lifesize, a division of Logitech (NASDAQ: LOGI) (SIX:LOGN) have today announced the launch of a new Lifesize Cloud Web Applications, a feature rich calling platform of anyone using a Google Chrome browser. The WebRTC Web App provides access to the Lifesize Cloud’s robust environment without requiring any software downloads. Available for the Google Chrome browser as of today, and Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox in the near future, the WebRTC powered Web App enables HD Video, chat and screen sharing for all directly from your browser.

In addition to the launch of the WebApp, Lifesize have also upgraded the Lifesize Cloud desktop application to provide a voice and content only web conferencing mode, enabling companies to reduce costs by removing the need for them to be subscribed to a separate web conferencing service. This move both saves money and simplifies the user experience by letting people connect together with video and audio, alongside sharing their entire screen with up to 40 other meeting participants, without the need to open multiple applications.

What does the Lifesize Cloud Web App enable?

The Lifesize Cloud Web App will:

  • Support enterprise IT policies and bring Video Conferencing to the whole organisation without using proprietary technology.
  • Enhance efficiency and productivity by bringing video, audio, content sharing and chat into one application with a single sign on
  • Improve online education with a solution that works perfectly on the Google Chromebook
  • Enable CIO’s to scale video across the organisation and reach all internal and external stakeholders without increased complexity or demands on infrastructure and support

Simply go to in Google Chrome and start calling. You’ll get all the features you’d expect in a video calling app at a level of quality that is remarkable.
