Key Update Information

Your Neat devices will automatically download NeatOS 24.5.0 as long as they’re powered on and connected to the network by 12:00 PM Central European Time (6:00 AM Eastern US / 3:00 AM Pacific US) on October 12. Following this, the devices will reboot between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM local time to apply the update.

If your devices are offline during the update window, they’ll download the update and reboot at the next available time.

What’s New in NeatOS 24.5.0?

1. Active Microphone Switching (Beta Feature)

Neat has enhanced microphone capabilities, introducing dynamic switching between Neat Pad microphones and main room device microphones (Neat Bar, Bar Pro, Board, Board 50). The system now automatically chooses the microphone closest to the active speaker, providing optimal sound quality for larger spaces and acoustically challenging environments.

Requirements:

• Wired Ethernet connection is required for both Neat Pad and the main room device (Wi-Fi is not currently supported).
• If using a Neat Center, only the Neat Center microphones will be active; Neat Pad microphones will be disabled.
• When paired with a Neat Board or Neat Board 50, Neat Pad must be connected at the Neat OS level.

2. Neat Center – Support for Web Proxy Servers and Custom NTP Servers

With this release, Neat Center now supports configuration with web proxy servers for secure Internet access, including TLS inspection. Additionally, you can now set up a custom Network Time Protocol (NTP) server for time management, giving you more control over network configurations.

3. Microsoft Teams Rooms – Custom Backgrounds on Neat Devices

Neat now allows custom background images on Microsoft Teams Rooms and Panels, enabling you to tailor your Neat devices to align with your branding. This feature is compatible with:

• Microsoft Teams Rooms devices with MTR software version 1449/1.0.96.2024091202.
• Microsoft Panels (Neat Pad) with Panels software version 1449/1.0.972024081207.
• MTR Pro license required for Rooms, and Teams Shared Device or Pro license for Panels.

4. Improved Framing Boundary

Neat’s camera auto-framing technology, Neat Symmetry, now recognises static images of people (e.g., photographs or digital signage) and ignores them, reducing manual calibration needs. This enhancement improves the accuracy of camera framing in various settings.
